Midwest Air plans another round of cutbacks, slicing service to 11 U.S. cities including San Diego, Baltimore, St. Louis and two Florida destinations.
The carrier, which had served 47 cities at the beginning of the year, said it will ground one-third of its fleet because of soaring fuel costs.
Cities to be cut include Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers in Florida as well as San Diego, Baltimore, Hartford, Conn., Louisville, Ky., St. Louis and San Antonio, according to a statement from the airline.
Earlier this year, Midwest dropped Austin, Texas, Charlotte, N.C., Colorado Springs, Colo. and Duluth, Minn.
After the cuts are complete, the airline will serve 32 cities. It operates a fleet of 25 Boeing 717s.
