Gasoline prices jumped almost 5 cents over the weekend setting yet another record price as consumers headed off to work for the week.
The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is now $3.718, an increase of almost 35 cents in the last month, according to the AAA Fuel Gauge Report.
Diesel fuel sells for a national average price of $4.361 a gallon, adding to the cost of food as well as almost every consumer good sold in stores and markets throughout the country.
Mid-grade gasoline is selling for $3.949 a gallon and premium costs 4.091 a gallon.
One year ago regular gasoline cost $3.064 a gallon, more than 22 percent less than the price now. Just one month ago regular gasoline sold for an average national price of $3.371 a gallon.
The most expensive gallon of regular gasoline is on sale in Ozark, Arkansas for $4.69. The cheapest gallon is found in Spartanburg, South Carolina for $3.34.
