Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 100,000 2008 F-Series trucks to repair the front drivers seat that does not conform with federal safety standards.
Ford reported that the weld connecting the drivers front seat back with a bracket can crack. Because of the faulty weld, the vehicles do not comply with federal rules for seat back strength, according to the automaker.
The recall covers F-250 through F-550 Super Duty trucks. More than 87,000 of the trucks are in the U.S. and 14,000 are in Canada.
No injuries have been reported because of the faulty seat, according to Ford. The automaker discovered the issue after receiving reports of the weld cracking.
Owners will be notified of the recall later in March and con contact Ford at (800) 392-3673.
