It's about time: mothers on spa vacations are finally encouraged to bring their kids.
At least that's the case in Baja California, Mexico, where the Ixchel Spa at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort has unveiled a menu of spa treatments for children.
Named for a Mayan moon goddess with powers over healing and fertility, the Ixchel has become one of the first North American spas to provide full spa amenities for families.
The newly-created youth treatments include:
25-minute back, neck & shoulders massage
25-minute Baja Herbal foot soak
15-minute reflexology
Manicures, pedicures & haircuts
Prices for children's services range from $15-$40.
For adults, the spa's list is more extensive, with such health and beauty treatments as a Baja Desert Cleanse purification ritual, an Agave Moon body wrap, and a holistic crystal healing massage, as well as assorted facials, massage therapies, manicures, and pedicures.
According to spa manager Adriana Tello de Meneses, "Everyone deserves a little pampering - even kids. Our spa services will leave both adults and children feeling renewed and that's what vacations are all about."
The AAA four-diamond resort features spectacular views of the Sea of Cortes from all of its four restaurants and most of its 375 rooms and suites. In addition to its full-service spa and fitness center, it includes two lighted tennis courts, championship golf, and Kids Club activities.
