The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating complaints that the throttle sticks in 2003 and 2004 Mustangs.
Most of the complaints were the result of the carpet interfering with the accelerator. However, NHTSA is continuing the defect investigation to further assess the frequency, scope and safety consequences of the alleged defect.
NHTSA is also investigating consumer complaints with the 2005 and 2005 Nissan Murano that road debris has punctured the fuel tank during normal driving, requiring that the tank be replaced.
Three of the incidents occurred at highway speeds and the fourth at approximately 15 miles per hour.
